Castellana Grotte famous for its limestone caves
LOCALITY
The Caves of Castellana Grotte are over 3000 metre in length and are a good opportunity to enjoy one of the most amazing natural wonders in Puglia. Daily tours of the cave are available in English, French German and Italian.
Acquapark is a fun waterpark for the whole family. There are three pools; one for younger children, one with a wave generator and one larger pool with dierent types of pool slides. Around the pools there are loungers where you can relax in the shade if it the sun gets too hot for youand a restaurant and café onsite.
The town of Alberobello is under 10 mintues drive away and here you will find an abundance of restaurants, cafe/bars, ice cream parlours and ample supermarkets for your needs.
If you like wine then a visit to Albea winery and museum in town is a must.
An interesting shop called Trullo Antichi Sapori which has been selling quality local cheeses, salami, wines, olive oils, pasta, etc since the 1930's is well worth a visit and can be found in the old town amongst the all the famous trullis in the tourist zone. Free delicous samples and a very warm welcome.
Visit Cantina del Locorotondo, sample the wine and buy if you like it, just a little further on (10 minutes drive) towards Martina Franca stop at Cantine di Marco and try theirs.
There are lots of beaches with lidos for those who wish for some on-site services.
The Zoolandia experience at Fasano is a day out for the family.
