Villa Valeria - Impeccable

We had an absolutely fabulous time in the villa and look forward to the opportunity to return. Everything was impeccable! Jackie was the best!! She helped with everything from cooking lesson to wine and gin delivery!! Could not ask for anything or anyone better. Thank you for sharing your villa with us!

Thank you for your wonderful review. October is a great time to explore Puglia and with Villa Valeria being right in town there is no need to hire a car if you don't want to. We are pleased you make good use of the taxi service to explore other parts. I really enjoyed the challenge to suggest the best of the local wines to you and to hear afterwards which where your favourites. We hope you return soon.
Gorgeous Home

We had a lovely stay at this gorgeous home. Jackie was incredibly helpful and responsive to our inquiries and gave us great suggestions for things to do. This was an unforgettable experience that our group of seven will cherish for a long time ahead

It was a pleasure to help you plan what to do in your short stay in Puglia. We are pleased you enjoyed your private cook, cookery lesson, wine tour, olive oil tour. I am not sure you could have packed much more in.
Fairytale castle with great service

We could not have asked for a more helpful host Jackie went over and above expectations helping us plan the week. She arranged restaurants for us for dinner, and even arranged a private cook to come to the villa to prepare two dinners based on local recipes The villa and grounds are impeccably maintained , and the location is central for day trips. The house is like a fairytale castle with spacious rooms, and comfortable furniture. Restaurants are walkable. Don't miss restaurant Coco Pazzo- the best meal in Puglia

Thank you for your 5 star review of Villa Valeria. It was a pleasure to help you make the most of your stay in Puglia. You certainly packed a lot in during the week, you had some great weather. We loved showing you the different selection of wines from the region and not just sticking to the Primitivo and Negroamaro grapes. We hope to welcome you back again sometime.
The perfect destination in Puglia

It's difficult to describe how good this property is, marvellous, stunning, fantastic, all of them are correct. It's the enormity of the property and grounds that's difficult to comprehend until you actually walk around the place. I would strongly recommend not playing hide and seek here….it could go on for days!! The kitchen had everything that we needed and the 2nd fridge is a great addition. The outdoor seating and dining areas are large and comfortable as you would expect. The ones to the front of the property were used every morning for breakfast whilst the ones at the rear were used in the afternoon and evening times. We rarely sat inside although there are several large dining tables spread across 3 different rooms should they be required in the cooler months. The pool, which is the longest and deepest I've used for quite sometime, was very welcome on those 30 degree sunny afternoons. OUR HOSTS Jackie greeted us on arrival and talked us through all of the important stuff and then gave us great information about Martina Franca and the local area. She also booked a restaurant an olive oil tasting and a taxi for us, which we do thank you for. Giuseppe was rarely seen but kept the place clean and tidy at all times….I suspect he's a bit of an "early bird".. Finally there are some great restaurants, bars and cafes within 15 mins walking distance, we particularly liked Gotha with its little garden court yard eating area. We did a couple of wine tastings, one in M Franca and one just a short drive away (this one included food), both are well worth a visit.if you want to try the local grapes. All in all a brilliant week, thanks Jackie and Giuseppe for all your help during our stay.

Wow, thank you for your lovely 5 star review of Villa Valeria. The property is unique and with fabulous gardens, large pool and the town on your doorstep. A great combination of relax and explore without the need for a car. It was a pleasure to have you come and stay and we hope to welcome you back again soon for some more wine tasting!
Our “castle” in Martina Franca

Our extended family of six adults (three couples) enjoyed the privilege of staying in this remarkable property for five days this September. It would be difficult to overstate the quality and scale of this villa. It truly is a castle. The pictures can't capture the spaciousness of the interior, e.g. the height of the ceilings. We typically explored Puglia during the day returning to cool off in the pool in the late afternoon and cooking at home most evenings. The kitchen is more well equipped than any of the other seven rentals we've visited over the years. It's a nice bonus to have the second fridge! As noted in the property description there is no AC for the ground floor bedrooms so that would be a nice addition if a proper solution presents itself. Location was nice for short walks to village facilities and we easily visited Alberobello, Monopoli, Torre Canne, Polignano, Ostuni, etc. Jackie was very helpful and readily available. We appreciated her helpful hints and professionalism. Giuseppe keeps the property looking great and was always busy but never intrusive. All in all, a fabulous stay! Thank you.

Thank you for your 5 star review of Villa Valeria. We agree, it is really difficult to capture the full beauty and story of this property. We are pleased you found it well equipped and enjoyed the pool. UPDATE for future guests: for 2023 air-con is planned to be available in all bedrooms
Stunning villa

Our party of 4 couples, stayed here for 2 weeks in July/August. It is a simply stunning villa set in huge gardens with lots of places to relax, both in the sun and shade. The outside is definitely the star of the villa. There are so many places to sit and relax. The grounds are immaculate and the pool is a good size to actually swim in. However, some of the outside furniture was tired and needed replaced and a few more loungers would allow everyone to have one at the same time. We enjoyed having some of our meals out on the terrace where the table would easily sit 10. Inside, the 3 bedrooms upstairs were large and had air conditioning but 2 of them shared a bathroom. Unfortunately, the 2 bedrooms downstairs were very small and did not have air conditioning. We did request fans for these rooms but for the standard and quality of this luxury villa we would have expected these rooms to have air conditioning given the cost of it. This was a big disappointment especially in the heat of the summer. As a base, Villa Valeria was a really good base to explore the surrounding areas. Would recommend this for a large family or group of friends staying in this area.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review of Villa Valeria and we are pleased you appreciated the outside space and discovered some of the beauty of Puglia. Around the pool area where you find the sun loungers there is also seating for at least 8 people. The sofa and chairs down by the pool are of an older style and in character with the villa, we were not aware attention was required and we will attend to this. The rattan furniture for al fresco dining and the sofa and armchairs is modern and very comfortable. Villa Valeria is unique and not purpose built, each room has its own character. The two bedrooms downstairs do not have air-con at present and this is clearly stated in our description. Bedroom 1 also has the benefit of having a separate wardrobe area by the entrance to the en-suite. Bedroom 2 is the smallest of all the rooms and our photos clearly show this. Thank you for recommending Villa Valeria to future guests, it was a pleasure to have you come and stay with us.
Five star service and dreamy holiday home

The service that Jackie provided was really friendly and efficient. She told us that the photographs of the house we were renting didn't do it justice. When we arrived we were blown away by the house. It is a wonderful place to relax and close to the lovely old centre of town. The outdoor area of the house is extensive with several areas in which to sit either in shade or sunshine. One evening we used the services of a cook(recommended by Jackie) and had a most memorable meal. We will definitely return.

Quality castle, gigantic pool, within walking distance of excellent restaurants and beautiful Martina Franca

An amazing place. Absolutely enormous. Really clean. Quality furniture and fittings, everything works. Great pool. Easy to walk into the town which we did 4 out of 7 nights for dinner. Martina Franca has a beautiful centre. Lovely other places in Puglia to visit too from this central location. Jackie, who is lovely and really helpful, will initially meet you and give you recommendations and will even arrange reliable taxis if required. She is always on hand on WhatsApp throughout the week. We'd recommend this place to friends and family and may well come back for more ourselves.

Absolutely Amazing Villa

We came to Puglia for our daughters wedding weekend in Cisternino. After the wedding 8 of our family stayed at Villa Valeria for a week. The pictures look stunning on this site - but you can't appreciate the scale. The Villa is behind private automatic gates and up a long drive. The grounds are amazing. Lovely and green - like an oasis! Yet you are right in the town for easy walks to restaurants, the main square and the fantastic weekly market. The bedrooms are spacious and well spaced from each other. We loved sitting out listening to the birds singing in the trees. This Villa really is a Gem!!

Villa Valeria, Martina Franca - Perfect family vacation in a beautiful home and surroundings!

We spent a week with our family of 6 at Villa Valeria. The house is spacious and comfortable. The location is great with a 10 minute walk to the historic center of Martina Franca. The grounds around the house are a park in itself, a real treat and luxury knowing you are in the city itself.

Thank you for your review, we too love the castle-like feel of the property. All our guests rave about how big the pool is and make good use of the gas BBQ. The furniture compliments the building from its stunning stained glass window in the main sitting room, to the antique panelling and chandeliers etc. It adds to the character of the property. Our past guests have commented how Villa Valeria is the only property in Puglia of this quality, truly in town and within walking distance of everything, with a fabulous pool and gardens. Being in town there is bound to be some noise at times compared to being out in the countryside. We think this is well worth while the compromise to be able to walk down the driveway and out into the town to explore on foot. There lots of places to explore in the well established gardens of the property and we particularly like sitting on the veranda over looking the pool. It was a pleasure to have you come and stay with us.
Lived in martina franca three years never knew it was there.

My lovely wife and I got married here in September and it was amazing.

Jackie and Sheree organised it for us and with the help of our caterers we had a day we will never forget.

The villa is beautiful and so peaceful considering it is almost in the centre of the town.

Some of our guests said it was the best wedding they had been, to so that sums it up.

If you are looking for a holiday villa to stay in this is the place.

Perfect place to stay in Puglia

Our week's stay at Villa Valeria was a long way beyond our expectations. The web site photos didn't prepare any of us (four couples) for its splendour, from the grand entrance avenue, to the turrets and the pool and magnificent gardens (which incidentally have 66 places to sit excluding walls around flower beds)! Although nearby towns and villages are great to visit, we loved Martina Franca, real Italy, with many places to eat, drink, shop - beautiful baroque buildings (and much earlier houses in the old town). It's very difficult to find anywhere to stay in Puglia with space, a pool and so on, where you don't need a car to go exploring locally. Guiseppe the on site caretaker cheerfully looked after the garden and pool and took away the recycling. House (including well equipped kitchen and comfortable bedrooms) and garden were immaculate on arrival. Finally - Jackie was helpful and professional from the outset; we were in touch several times during our stay - always quick helpful responses. We all loved Puglia and Villa Valeria.

The location was ideal as we could walk to restaurants, shopping and site seeing in Martina Franca.

What a beautiful property. Our family of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Valeria. The location was ideal as we could walk to restaurants, shopping and site seeing in Martina Franca. I think I looked at every villa in Puglia and frankly this is the only one where you do not require a car. The pool was great on hot afternoons after taking a day trip or walking in town. The rooms were great size and our entire family enjoyed our stay. Having the two refrigerators was ideal. The grounds were immaculately manicured and Guiseppe who stays in a separate house on the huge property kept the area clean every day. Jackie, the property manager, helped us with transportation arrangements, stocked the villa before our arrival, arranged a boat trip and a dinner cooked at the property and was available any time we needed her.. She selected some wines for our stay and we enjoyed them all. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to those looking for villas. We all felt like we were staying Castle with manicured grounds and a beautiful swimming pool. A big thank you to Jackie for all of her help.

Large and impressive house, very well appointed and comfortable.
We had a great time staying at this amazing villa. The bedrooms are all large and comfortable, the kitchen is huge and well equipped and the property gardens, pool and surrounds are absolutely amazing. Our host Jackie was incredibly helpful and gave us a great tour and introduction to Martina Franca. The old town is a short 10min walk up the hill and the local restaurant's are excellent (Osteria del Coco Pazzo is a must, fantastic local food). It was also great to have a groundskeeper close by who took care of rubbish and pool maintenance. The place was in immaculate condition, we were amazed at how beautiful everything was every day. Beautiful villa in a beautiful town - perfect!
We stayed here for a week in September and we absolutely loved it. Good as the pictures are, they don't do justice to this beautiful house and its immaculately landscaped and tended gardens and driveway. The pool deck is huge and always offers a choice of sun or shade, no matter what time of day; the pool is a 'proper' adult pool, big enough and deep enough to swim; the huge porch area was everyone's favourite with its massive dining area - we were a party of seven adults and we could easily have fitted several more very comfortably at the table I think. The house combines character and tradition with modern necessities like fully equipped bathrooms, a dishwasher and plenty of fridge/freezer space. Every room and bathroom was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and lots of supplies were provided to help us settle in. There is a wonderful caretaker / groundsman onsite who is unobtrusive but makes sure the pool and surrounding area are cleaned every morning and any rubbish is promptly disposed of. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars within easy walking distance of the house - the local greengrocer is 5 mins away and has a superb array of beautiful produce. The old town is breathtakingly pretty, especially at night when lit up. Jackie at Puglia Holiday Rentals was really helpful, going well beyond just renting us the house - she organised taxis for transfers and excursions and booked wine- and olive oil-tasting, both of which were excellent; the one issue we raised - a minor one regarding some kitchen utensils - was dealt with immediately. Views differed on highlights - some of us loved our cookery lesson on the porch and the amazing lunch that resulted, one voted the yachting trip top pick (both organised by Jackie), whilst others thought swimming, lazing on the pool deck and playing table tennis were best as it was so hard to drag ourselves away from such a beautiful house! There are two bedrooms on the ground floor but the other three are upstairs and a short section of the staircase is quite steep: that and the depth of the pool (more than 5' at its shallowest) may be an issue if you are travelling with small children. It's perfect for older children and adult groups who don't mind some minor traffic noise when enjoying their luxurious oasis!

Thank you for your 5 star review, how lovely you called Villa Valeria a luxurious oasis, we think it is too. What sets Villa Valeria apart from many other villas in Puglia is the beautiful gardens, stunning pool and the ability to walk down the drive and out into the town of Martina Franca. Dinner out every night without having to worry who will drive. Or if you have teenagers, they can go out without having to be dropped off and picked up all the time. Leaving other members of the family to just relax by the pool, sit in the shade or wander the grounds! We are pleased you enjoyed the activities we arranged for you and always try to help you to make the most of your stay in Puglia. There are so many restaurants in town, it is hard to pick which one to go to. It was a pleasure to have you stay with us and we hope to welcome you back again sometime. A castle with a pool... what more could you ask for?!
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the magnificent Villa Valeria. Thank you so much for sharing your house with us!! We had plenty of room to spread out, which was much appreciated after our first week in Venice, Florence and Rome. The pool made the hot August days enjoyable, especially after site seeing in Alberobello, Grottaglie and the Ionian and Adriatic Seas. Our sons enjoyed the soccer (futbol) court and ping pong table and my mother-in-law enjoyed afternoon strolls around the grounds. We were able to cook meals and play games in between outings to the surrounding area. Jackie was very helpful with dinner recommendations. It truly is an amazing place! Thank you!!

Spacious and opulent our party of 7 adults were lost in its many wings and grounds. Superbly planted to give the illusion of privacy whilst pizzerias, pollarias, chemists, cafe's, bakeries etc lie at the bottom of the elaborate 100m gated driveway. Jacobean banquet halls and grand dining rooms remained unused as we rattled around this well equipped mansion for 11 days as the boys were in the five a side football pitch and table tennis area and the rest of us lazed on it's many terraces and veranda. Giuseppe emptying the bins and cleaning the pool and gardens every day before 8 was a great touch and the air con upstairs was a welcome relief to the humidity though, extending this to downstairs or fitting mosquito nets there would better keep it cool downstairs too; although it was uncommonly hot this summer! Recommended!

Thank you for your lovely 5 star review of Villa Valeria. It was a pleasure to have you come and stay at one of our properties again and hear how much you enjoyed your stay. We will be fitting mosquito screens to the downstairs bedrooms for next year. We do have fans for the downstairs bedrooms, what a shame you didn't get in touch during your stay, we could have had them over to you in minutes. It was good to hear your boys made good use of the ball court area playing 5 a side. Villa Valeria really is quite special and we love the spacious grounds. We hope to welcome you back again next year.
Villa Valeria, Martina Franca
