Further afield

If you can tear yourself away from Trullo Nespole why not visit the beach and enjoy the sand between your toes, the shallow waters perfect for children and of course find that perfect spot for lunch or dinner.

Brindisi old town a 20 minute drive away has interesting shops, waterfront restaurants and is one end of the Appian way.  If you like wine why not visit Tenute Rubino right on the waterfront and ask for a tasting.

Lecce also known as the Florence of the South by the locals is a must see, with all its famous churches, architecture and not forgetting the ice cream at the shop Natale, the best in town.

Ostuni known as the "White City" with its rambling old town, tourist shops and many restaurants is also very interesting.  Bring your camera, there are some great photos to be had here.

Much has been written about this UNSECO town with its streets packed with trullis pilled up on a hill and no visit would be complete without a stop here.

Martina Franca

Baroque architecture, food, wine and a big market every Wednesday are all here to fill your cup with all things Pugliese.

We've loved staying here. The house is extremely well equipped, we've had everything we need and more. It's a very comfortable place to return to in the afternoon and keeps relatively chilly despite the outdoor heat (which peaked at 41 degrees during our stay). We still have after 2 weeks have not had the time to look at all the surrounding towns and sights.
